1676 MAUNDY FOURPENCE ( FINE )

A scarce example of Charles II's Maundy coinage, struck in 1676. This fourpence displays fine condition with clear detail to the obverse portrait and reverse inscription. Maundy coins were traditionally distributed by the monarch on Maundy Thursday to the poor, making them historically significant and increasingly difficult to locate in quality grades. An excellent addition to any collection of Stuart-era numismatics or English Maundy series.
