1837 MAUNDY TWOPENCE ( GVF )

A scarce silver Maundy twopence from the reign of William IV, struck in 1837. This example displays good very fine condition with clear definition to the obverse portrait and reverse denomination. Maundy coins were traditionally distributed by the monarch on Maundy Thursday and remain highly collectible pieces of British numismatic history. An excellent addition to any collection of early 19th-century British coinage.
