1679 MAUNDY THREEPENCE ( FINE )

A scarce example of this historic silver threepence, struck in 1679 during the reign of Charles II. Maundy coins were specially minted for the annual Royal Maundy ceremony, where the monarch distributed alms to the poor. This piece displays good detail with even wear consistent with Fine grade. A desirable addition to any collection of Stuart coinage or Maundy rarities.
